Traveler's Information IMPORTANT
INFORMATION FOR PIA PASSENGERS
1: Passenger should reach airport:
Minimum 2 hours before departure time for domestic flights &
Minimum 4 hours before departure time for international flights
due to intensive security arrangements at airports. [Advertisement

2: Counters will be strictly closed 01HR before the departure
time.
3:No wheel chairs requests will be entertained at check-in counter
less than 01 hr 15 min prior to departure time.
4: Only 01 piece of hand carry allowed of weighing 7kgs.
5: No liquids/Gels/Perfumes/Creams allowed in your hand carry,
otherwise security will confiscate these items.
6: The free baggage allowance be two pieces (32 Kgs each) for
Business, Economy Plus and Economy Class on PK sectors only (Note:
This facility is not applicable on other airline sector. On other
carrier free baggage allowance is two pieces of 23 KGS each or
maximum allowed by that specific carriers for interline traffic)(For
USA and Canada only).
7: Effective 1st December 2008, the free baggage allowance will
be two pieces of 28 KGS each for business and economy cabin(For
USA and Canada only).
8: The tickets issued up to 30th November 2008 will be allowed
to carry free baggage allowance of two pieces of 32 KGS till the
validity of the tickets(for USA and Canada only).
9: Boarding gates will be closed for all passengers 30 mins before
the departure time, failure to report there will result in off
loading of your bags.
10: Passengers only are allowed to go in to the check-in areas.
But passengers who need special assistance will be allowed only
01 person to go with them.
11:Please make sure you read this information and comply with
them to avoid any mishandlings/disruption/inconvenience.
- Information
For Passengers Travelling Through UK
All passengers travelling through United Kingdom and holding
the following documents require a Direct Airside Transit Visa
(DATV):
Passengers travelling to USA
- Alien resident card (green card) issued
before 21st April,1998.
- I-551 stamp (red colour wet stamp). This
stamp is issued to passengers whose alien resident card is
under process.
- Refugee passport. However, passenger doesnot
require DATV if also holding permanent resident card issued
after 21st April,1998.
- Transportation letter.
- Letter of parole.
Passengers travelling to European
Destinations
Category "C" visa (visit visa)
Passengers travelling to Ireland
Category "C" visa of Ireland requires category "C"
UK visa instead of DATV.
New rules for taking
liquids on all Domestic flights
Live Animals
Live animals including dogs, cats, reptiles and household
birds when properly crated and accompanied by valid health
certificate entry permit and other documents required by countries
of entry transit, will be accepted for carriage on PIA flight
in the baggage holds only. The size of containers should not
exceed the dimension 35” X 23” X 40” for
carriage in the hold.
- Lap dogs cats and household birds may not
be allowed for carriage in the Cabin as per PIA policy.
- Excess baggage charges are applicable at
the time of check-in as per normal excess baggage charges
for Live animals.
- Pet is properly crated in a container not
exceeding the dimensions of 12” x 18” x 16”.
- Bird cage is covered by a piece of cloth
while in the flights.
- Live animals and pets for flights to Great
Britain can only be accepted as cargo (unaccompanied baggage)
with proper entry permit, Health Certificate and other required
documents.
- For Saudi Arabia Dog/Monkeys and other birds
are only acceptable if prior clearance from government agencies
in Saudi Arabia is taken. If not then PIA cannot accept Live
animals for Saudi Arabia.
Note: The weight of accompanied animal/pet, when accepted
including the weight of container, shall not be included in
the free baggage allowance of the passenger. The passenger
will have to pay the applicable excess baggage charges.

KIT
Golf equipment to be accepted for domestic & international
flights if carried in addition to Free Baggage Allowance then
up to additional 15Kgs the special charge will be 06Kgs only.
In case the Golf equipment is weighing more than 15Kgs, then
it will be charged at the rate of 06Kgs for weight up to 15Kgs,
any weight in excess of 15Kgs, normal per Kg excess Baggage
rate will be applicable.
- In Piece concept the charge for such golfing
equipment if in excess of the normal checked baggage allowance
shall be 50% of the applicable excess baggage charges i.e.
50% of unit charge.
- If the Golf Equipment is included in checked
baggage allowance, then no extra charge will be applicable.
- If the passenger is carrying the golf equipment
against his/her entitlement of FBA then no charge will be
applicable.
- International passengers holding tickets
issued outside Pakistan and traveling on domestic route will
not be allowed to avail this facility.
- On international flights, the charge will
be equal to the applicable charge as per applicable rate of
IATA. Such charge shall be assessed when the articles (one
golf baggage including one pair of golf shoes) are not included
in the normal free baggage allowance for the class of service
paid.
- In Piece concept the charge for such golfing
equipment if in excess of the normal checked baggage allowance
shall be 50% of the applicable excess baggage charges i.e.
50% of unit charge.
- When the articles mentioned in above paragraph
are included in the free baggage allowance, any overweight
resulting from such inclusion shall be assessed at above special
charge or the normal baggage charges which ever is less.
